I should perhaps have mention that my model is organic and not flat at all, its very rounded shape, so if i didnt missunderstand your method it maybe wont work?? The Maximize Range button examines the current Alpha and considers its darkest areas to be completely black, and its lightest areas to be completely white. Inflat in the Deformation palette.
